relational skills deliberately, and build something increasingly connected and nourishing.
Your marriage does not have to be broken. Your husband does not have to enroll.

You begin by learning how to see.
Insight can happen quickly. Pattern change requires practice.
You can understand an idea in an afternoon.
Living differently when work is stressful, someone is tired, the same argument appears again, or an old family script gets activated takes longer.
That is why School of Wife is structured as a year rather than a weekend intensive.
The first 90 days build the way you think. The next nine months give you repeated opportunities to apply what you have learned to ordinary married life.

What can you see now that you could not see before?
At the end of Foundations, you do not take an exam. You apply the method to a fresh fictional marriage case and compare your reasoning with a faculty lens.
You also look back privately at your own learning: What do you notice now? What questions do you ask before reacting? What have you become more precise about?
Insight becomes competence through use.
Learn what not to do with your new knowledge: do not diagnose your husband, over-own the marriage, or weaponize SOW language.
Recognize bids, responsiveness, drift, and the small practices that help connection stay alive.
Move toward communication another person can actually understand and respond to.
Recognize recurring cycles, escalation, and what helps two people find their way back.
Examine who notices, decides, remembers, executes, follows up, and carries responsibility.
Study ordinary relational trust: reliability, responsiveness, follow-through, and repair.
Explore affection, emotional closeness, play, novelty, physical connection, and the conditions that help intimacy remain alive.
Retake your private SOW Marriage Profile and apply the method to new fictional cases.
Build a Marriage Maintenance Plan you can continue using after School of Wife ends.

participation.
A school should teach you — not make you dependent on the teacher.

Your marriage is good and you want to develop it intentionally; it functions but does not feel as nourishing as you want; you keep encountering the same patterns; you are entering a new season; or you want to become more skillful without waiting for your spouse to take a course with you.
Individual psychotherapy, couples therapy, sex therapy, betrayal-trauma treatment, crisis intervention, spouse diagnosis, or stay-or-leave advice. It is not appropriate as the primary support for active abuse or coercive control.

School of Wife is designed so that a woman can learn and practice without requiring her husband to enroll.
You can become more skillful in what you notice, say, choose, practice, accept, decline, and participate in. You cannot guarantee another adult’s response. School of Wife never promises that changing yourself will cause your husband to change.
