School of Wife

You were trained for almost everything
important in your life — except marriage.

You learned how to build a career. Make difficult decisions. Solve problems. Lead people. Manage
responsibility. But most of us entered marriage with no comparable education at all.

School of Wife is marriage education for women who believe a good
marriage can still become a better one.

Whether your marriage is thriving, functioning, drifting, or simply harder to understand than you
expected, you can learn to see it more clearly — and become more skillful in how you participate in it.

Why Marriage Education?

A marriage does not have to be broken to deserve development.

We invest in professional development before there is a professional crisis. We learn financial skills before bankruptcy. We study parenting because loving our children does not automatically teach us everything we need to know about raising them.

Marriage deserves the same seriousness.

You may love your husband deeply and still want more connection. You may have a marriage that works beautifully in many ways and still recognize places where you have drifted into habits neither of you deliberately chose. You may be carrying recurring frustrations you cannot quite name. Or you may simply want to protect something good before drift becomes a problem.

The School of Wife Approach

Most marriage advice starts with a prescription. School of Wife starts
with a diagnosis.

Talk more. Have more date nights. Be more affectionate. Set better boundaries. Try harder. Stop trying so hard.

Pattern before person.

What is actually happening between us — before I decide what kind of person my spouse is?

Evidence before opinion.

What happened — and what did I conclude that it meant?

Diagnosis before prescription.

What kind of problem am I looking at — before I decide how to respond?

Function vs. Nourishment

What are you actually trying to build?

A marriage can be highly functional and still not feel deeply nourishing.

Functional

The bills are paid. The children are cared for. Schedules work. You cooperate

Nourishing

There is attention, warmth, responsiveness, shared enjoyment, trust, affection, and the sense that two people are still actively choosing and learning one another.

The School of Wife Year

First, learn to see it. Then learn to live it.

Foundations · First 90 Days

Recognize inherited scripts, separate evidence from interpretation, identify recurring patterns, and diagnose before automatically trying harder.

Practice Year · Next 9 Months

Connection, real conversations, conflict and repair, ownership and household systems, trust and responsiveness, intimacy and aliveness, and changing seasons of life.

Relationship Physics

One useful question is: which direction is the relationship moving?

Relationship Physics helps you examine the current direction of mutual investment and responsiveness in the marriage.

Some couples are actively moving toward one another. Sometimes one person is doing more of the relationship-maintenance work. Sometimes a quiet drift has begun. Sometimes the distance is more pronounced.

Your Relationship Position can provide useful context. But it is one lens, not the whole marriage.

School of Wife uses Relationship Physics alongside a broader method for examining connection, communication, patterns, ownership, agency, maintenance, and the systems inside a marriage.

Created by Dr. Dos

A physician’s instinct: understand before you prescribe.

For decades, Dr. Dos has worked in a profession built around a simple discipline: do not treat the symptom before understanding the problem.

School of Wife brings that same intellectual posture to marriage education. Observe carefully. Ask better questions. Distinguish evidence from interpretation. Look for patterns. Then decide what response actually fits.

Dr. Dos is a board-certified pediatrician, wife of more than three decades, mother, entrepreneur, and founder of School of Wife.

She created SOW around a conviction that became increasingly difficult to ignore:

Clear Scope

This is marriage education.

School of Wife is not psychotherapy. It is not crisis intervention. It is not a place to diagnose your husband. It does not tell women whether to stay married or leave. And it does not make one woman responsible for creating a healthy marriage for two adults.

If abuse, coercive control, trauma, serious betrayal, or another clinical concern is the primary issue, specialized professional support may be the more appropriate first step.

The Founding Cohort
