School of Wife

About Dr. Dos

Understand before you prescribe.

Dr. Dos built School of Wife on a conviction that took decades to fully form: marriage deserves the same seriousness, curiosity, and disciplined
attention we give every other important part of adult life.

She didn’t set out to prove she had mastered marriage. She set out to build the school she wishes
more women had before they needed it.

The Physician Who Started Asking an Earlier Question

Why wait for crisis to learn about marriage?

Most people only get serious about understanding their marriage after something has gone wrong. Dr. Dos began asking a different question much earlier: what would it look like to learn how a marriage actually works — clearly, deliberately, and well before any crisis forces the question?

School of Wife is her answer. Not a program for marriages in trouble. A place to learn a skill most of us were never taught — whether things are difficult, good, or somewhere in between.

Three Vantage Points

She didn’t build this from theory alone.

Lived

Married since 1989 — nearly four decades of the ordinary, unglamorous work of staying married through changing seasons.

Clinical

More than three decades in pediatric medicine gave her a front-row view of how deeply family systems shape everyday life.

Peer

Years spent working closely with accomplished women navigating careers, businesses, and major life transitions — many of whom had received extensive training for professional life, while marriage was largely something they were expected to know how to do.

Medicine Taught Her to Resist the Fast Answer

Careful observation and good questions shaped her intellectual style.

Good diagnosis takes patience: observe carefully, distinguish evidence from interpretation, and understand a problem before you decide how to respond to it. That instinct, trained over decades of clinical practice, deeply shapes the way School of Wife teaches women to think.

A Marriage in Real Seasons

She built the school she wishes more women had before they needed it.

Dr. Dos has been married since 1989. Her own marriage has moved through the same kinds of changing seasons long marriages do: career building, raising children, entrepreneurship, competing demands, aging, and becoming different people while remaining married to one another. Those seasons taught her that a marriage can be loving, functional, and enduring — and still benefit from more deliberate attention.

School of Wife did not come from the belief that she had mastered marriage. It came from the opposite realization: something this important deserved to be studied, practiced, and learned deliberately.

How She Teaches

She teaches women how to think, not what to think.

Dr. Dos is not interested in adding another set of generic marriage rules to the pile. She teaches women to ask better questions, examine patterns more carefully, and choose responses that fit the marriage they are actually living.

Diagnosis before prescription isn’t a slogan. It’s part of the method Dr. Dos built — and one reason School of Wife approaches marriage education differently from generic marriage advice.
